Ardent is seeking a GIS Analyst - Developer to craft innovative GIS applications and tools to support critical government initiatives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
- A strong background in geospatial technology, with expertise in metadata standards, ISO standards, and Survey123
- Familiarity with geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial)
- Experience with web mapping libraries/frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, ArcGIS API for JavaScript)
- Knowledge of geospatial analysis techniques and tools
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of GIS applications, tools, and workflows
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and data models
- Implement data visualization techniques to present spatial information effectively
- Conduct testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of GIS applications
- Support the deployment and integration of GIS solutions with existing systems
- Research new and innovative ways to capture, integrate, filter and display data from many different sources and methods
- Work with extremely short timelines
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a related field
- 4+ years in a strong understanding of GIS concepts and principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- U.S. Citizens willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process
